What song is this? Classical, piano...

Can you help me identify a piece of music (piano, classical, maybe contemporary) music that I heard on Australian public radio last week? Link inside.

What is the song that plays at 21:38 for about a minute (as an interlude in an interview with Aussie author Richard Flanagan).

I tried Shazam and SoundHound without luck.

Best answer: Given how recent this is, I would suggest contacting them to ask. It sounds vaguely Romantic, but it could be a modern royalty-free piece.

Best answer: It doesn't sound like "classic" classical music to me; much more "contemporary instrumental". I would wager that it was composed within the last 20–30 years.

Best answer: I agree it's modern, and it sounds a lot like the soundtrack to Amélie. I imagine there are lots of imitators of that style, so it's unlikely to be by Yann Tiersen, but perhaps that might help in the search.

Best answer: This genre is something I listen to a lot. I don’t recognize it, but it is Tiersen-esque for sure.

Best answer: US Shazam gives the answer “ Emmène-moi (Chostakovitch: Jazz Suite No. 2) [Instrumental] by Morgane Raoux, Olga Vassivela & Jérome Seguin” but it’s only a 30-second clip and it’s not the same. I suspect it’s from a stock service.

Best answer: I'd agree that it sounds kind of like generic royalty-free music - when I worked in video production, we had stacks of CDs sitting around that we could pull from for mood setting music without any extra licensing that was very similar to this.

That said, it does remind me of Adrian Berenguer, specifically Little Things. If it's not a licensed variation, he'd have an excellent lawsuit against it.

Seconded. And make sure to sign your query "Gladys".

Response by poster: Thanks all! I've contacted the ABC and will report back. It does sound like Little Things, Candleman. I'll try the Amelie soundtrack and Yann Tiersen, too - this music is so peaceful and soothing.

Response by poster: Update: I heard from the ABC. The song is called All will be fine and the artist is Aysendeniz Gokcin. Late Night Live (the radio show where I heard the song) has a paid subscription to a production music company called Audio Network.

Here's the song.
