I have a 1080ti. Is there a $400-450 GPU that would be an upgrade?

My current GPU is fine. However, I have ray tracing envy. And GPUs are plentiful, which could be temporary.

Problem is I can't figure out if anything in my price range would actually be an upgrade. According to performance charts, my 1080ti is still a decent low-midrange card, somehow.

Of course benchmarks are just a metric for comparison. It isn't really the whole story.

I mostly play 2077 and other RPGish titles. Occasionally MMOs or online co-op.

I always run as close to 4K as I can get, locked at 60 fps. I know a lot of people favor frame rate over resolution, but I'm the opposite.

Any wisdom or insight would be great. Thanks!

Best answer: Tom's Hardware keeps a pretty up to date GPU hierarchy here - I imagine you could pick up a 4060 Ti or a RX 6750 XT or something like that for under $400 and you'd get a nice solid boost. Nothing wild, but probably will keep you at 4k/60 for a while longer. I would say that for the price, you may want to opt for AMD because they are less focused on upscaling and DLSS. But the same site has some good recommendations for different needs here too.

Best answer: Logical Increments is another site for seeing the hierarchy of current parts.

Similar boat here. But - the issue for me is not so much GPU cost, as - my pc PSU is puny. : ) Just fyi... I think a lot of folks with similarly powered cards may also have smaller PSU's in general, and that severely limits any serious card upgrade you can get (unless you replace your PSU as well).
