Name this kitty!

This little guy came to us needing a home and a name. While we've got his home covered, we are having a harder time deciding on his name. He's an only pet but his pet cousins are called Harry and Archie so we'd like to avoid those. Other than that no restrictions or preferences.

Clifford, cause he’s a big, red kitty. (I loved Clifford the dog.)

I could also see:

* Clyde
* Lionel
* Vernon
* Stanley
* Gideon

Percival. Percy or Purrcy for short, pun tolerance depending. (Alternatively, Arturo.)

The first name that popped into my head was Oscar (maybe Oskar?)

Mr. Zesty or Cheddar would suit him, too.

So, the cousins are Harry Potter and Archie Andrews.
Or British royals Harry and Archie.
I sense a disturbance in The Force....
Luke Skywalker or Hans Solo.
Peter Parker. Indiana Jones.
George, Louis, Ernest or Lucas. William, Peter or James.

Harry and Archie are clearly British royal family names, so you could certainly follow that thread with a Charlie or a Phil; or, given his colouring, an Ethelred. (Of course, Oliver (Cromwell) would work if he's a rebel.)

Growing up, we had lots of cats at any one time (maybe a dozen or so, with some dying or disappearing and others having kittens) and no time to waste on deciding whether Bertram or Archibald or whatever was the "best" cat name. They came and went.

This cat would have been Orangey. If there was another orange cat, they would have been Little Orangey and Fat Orangey or whatever described them. Blacky, Whitey, Spotty, Orangey, Hairy, Mother, Skinner, Fatter, Stripey or Striper, Grayzer, Big Kitten, Little Kitten, Rotter, ...

Go with Orangey.

Cats don't need names. They aren't dogs and don't respond to names. I'd just refer to him as the cat.
