Excellent dentists in Alameda/Oakland/Berkeley?

Help! Went in for a root canal and dentist didn't put the crown back on bc the appointment went over time and the next patient was waiting. Had to reschedule. This was the final straw in years of bad bedside manner etc. Need to find someone great in Alameda, Oakland or Berkeley ASAP. Thanks!!

This previous Ask is a start, but it's several years old and not focused on general awesomeness.

I like Lindsay Koida on Broadway in Oakland. I haven't had that level of intensive procedures, but I went to this practice because I was having a lot of trouble with imaging due to some weirdness with my jaw. I have had very good experience with the hygienists and office staff.

I've been going to Dr. Shaya Hamid at Green Dental in Oakland for years, and have had a great experience both with her and her staff. Highly recommended!

I can't give a specific recommendation but I recommend getting a new dentist and then for any future root canals get a referral to an endodontist. A routine root canal may be something the average dentist is capable of, but you won't know of complications until they occur.

I’ve been going to Grand Avenue for the past ten years, and had one root canal there plus a few extractions. The transition from Dr. Ruddell to Dr. Haley has been handled well so I expect to keep going.

I second the suggestion to go to an endodontist specifically for root canals; they are the experts in this. My regular/family dentist (sorry, currently not open to new patients) refers out to specialists for root canals (aforementioned endodontist), extractions & implants (oral surgeons for the last two).

I really like Dr Carolyn Chong or Dr Brian Cheung, both at Berkeley Endodontics at 2850 Telegraph Ave in Berkeley for root canal work.

Good luck!

Nthing Berkeley Endodontics! Silvia Cecchini is fantastic. Getting a root canal done by an expert in root canals is really good idea. My dentist sent me there for a consultation before putting in a crown, to make sure there weren't going to be any complications.

Dr. Amy Lee, offices in Berkeley and Alameda, also recommended in that previous Ask! I've been going to her for over 10 years and she is so kind and amazing all around. When I recently had root canal complications (on an almost 20 year old root canal done by a different dentist elsewhere) she sent me to Dr. James Ho in Berkeley.
