Cranky review of the big Vermeer exhibit?

When the current big Vermeer exhibit opened at the Rijksmuseum, I read a bad review of it online--or if not bad, then at least cranky about it (not impressed by Vermeer, critical of the museum's handling of logistics, rolling eyes at people ignoring the other paintings, etc.). I thought I saw it linked here or on kottke.org, but I haven't had luck finding it there, or in my browser history. I thought it was on a pretty high-profile site or publication... Does anyone else remember this?

Best answer: I also remember something like this but can’t find it. It was kind of commentary on darkness of Vermeer or a bit of that narrative was in piece. Looking for article. Thought it was on kottke.

Response by poster: Ahh, thank you both!! Either my kottke searching is way under-par, or maybe there's something different about how the quick links relate to the site search.

Much appreciated!

Best answer: I remembered it was a quick link so I just navigated through the archives searching in the page for the text "vermeer", I didn't try using any site-search method.

You ain't kidding. I look forward to his other literary perambulations:

"Do Babies Notice How Unpleasant Those Gurgles Are?"

"Golden Sunsets - Unappetizing and Plebeian, AmIRite?"
