plotting walk distance on a map?

apologies if my search skills are poor, but i haven't been able to find what i'm looking for... i've recently started a daily walk for exercise, and i thought it would be fun to plot the distance walked against a "fake" route (e.g., across the country) to see my incremental progress. do you know of an app or site that fits the bill? thanks!

I think gmap pedometer might fit the bill. You could save a route and then edit it as you go.

I think theconqueror.events does exactly this.

Best answer: World Walking is free and has over 400 routes to choose from. (I haven’t tried it, but would like to!)

Best answer: Walk the Distance is fun ( I started with the Boston Marathon and am now working my way across the AT)

I have downloaded but not yet used Fantasy Hike which looks promising, too.

Came into say World Walking. There is a Metafilter team on there if you want to join.
