Favorite Fashion Influencers for Forty+ Female Frocks

I am a mid-40s woman looking to start a revamp of my wardrobe. I am a very visual person, so I tend to shop outfits from the sites of brands I like based off the pics of assembled pieces on a person. I'd like to expand my horizons and branch out into new brands and styles, but I need inspiration!

I follow a number of mid-size influencers on IG, but most of them are younger and not a good match for my aesthetic. My wishlist would include: over 40, mid-size (8 - 14; Large), a bit of edge to their style (think aging rock star goes to the office), and promotes brands that are mid-priced. Suggestions?

Not on Instagram but are you familiar with Alison Gary at Wardrobe Oxygen? Possibly not edgy enough for you, but she is a size 14 woman who regularly posts her outfits and recommends mid-priced brands. She's been doing this for over a decade too (maybe two?).

I don't know specific influencers for your aesthetic, but I know where you can might find them! I really like looking around on Shop Look and Like to Know It to get fashion ideas and links to products that regular people can buy. You kinda have to explore and figure out the quirks of both sites to get yourself pointed in the right direction, but I think you could start with searching some of your terms above and seeing what kinds of collections pop up. Good luck!

Wears My Money is great. She's recently 50, teenage kids, used to work in the music industry, range of price points but mostly mid-priced stuff.

It's tiktok but my suggestion is @laurelladeville. She's middle aged, mid-sized, I think her style might meet the brief. She often provides links to the clothes she wears too.

Another suggestion - YouLookFab's Angie Cox is 50, dresses fabulously and regularly features women of every age and size on her website. The forum is filled with 40+ women who regularly post outfits for inspiration (you'll need to make an account to see their photos, but it takes moments).

I came here to recommend Angie Cox and Alison Gary. I'm older and a bit larger than you and they're both my vibe, especially Gary.

If you're interested in compiling your new wardrobe into capsules I'd also recommend The Vivienne Files; her wardrobes are not going to be your jam per se but she really teaches you over time how to make capsules of clothes that go well together, how to figure out what you're missing in making a capsule/wardrobe, and how to accessorize.

@whatcharwore2 on Instagram is a 52 year old woman, size 10, who definitely has an edgy style. I'm not sure she promotes mid range priced options but she's definitely worth a look.
