Best answer: We have similar lists!

2nding Brooklyn 99, Community and the Good Place.

I also like What we do in the Shadows.

If what we do in the shadows winds up being something you like, I like Our Flag Means Death. But it's a bit quirky and starts out pretty dry (which works for me, but my husband bounced off it until a few episodes in).

Best answer: Oh! And if West Wing's appeal was partly Aaron Sorkin, then you may like Molly's Game (movie).

Best answer: You might enjoy the update to That 70s Show: That 90s Show on Netflix.

Seconding Abbot Elementary

Best answer: Frasier
Happy Endings
Cougartown
Don't trust the B*tch in apt 23
Scrubs

look up the proper order to watch HE and Apt23 in, as both were done dirty by the networks during airing and they're better if the episodes happen in an order that makes sense! Cougartown has a very stupid premise but they abandon it very quickly and it becomes a great show.

Best answer: Yes, I was surprised to like and watch all of Cougartown. I believe I watched initially because of the thing with Community (but I'll say no more, because Community is a good one - good from ep 1). Which reminds me, my ex got the Troy and Abed in the Morning mug. I need to get another.

Best answer: Sports night
Good place
30 rock
Parenthood
Newsroom
Ted lasso

I liked all the shows on your list and those are my other favorites that feel similar. Friday night lights and Gilmore girls are also favorites but feel like they are a bit different than the others.

Best answer: The Mindy Project is on Netflix now. The first two seasons were great, funny and gentle. (Not a fan of later seasons.)

Best answer: Brockmire surprised me at every turn, in a really good way. I didn't expect to love it and was a bit stubborn around actually starting it, but at my partner's insistence I did, and it was worth it!

Best answer: Mythic Quest, mostly adding because I had never heard of this show until a month ago. So good.

Best answer: Miracle Workers!

Don't let season 1 fool you into thinking it's just a Good Place copycat. Seasons 2 and 3 are entirely different and where the show really comes into it's own by completely reinventing it's setting (and season 4 should be here soon? maybe?)

The Good Place and Ted Lasso are absolute musts.

I would also recommend The US version of The Office (like P&R, it really gets good in the second season) and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, both of which are a little more on the cringe-comedy side than the shows you listed but which have a similar combination of heart and sharp writing.
