What kind of glue is this?

It came with a dollhouse miniature kit in an unmarked bottle. Crystal clear, has the consistency of hot glue (the kind that comes out of a gun)- both when wet out of the bottle, and when dry. I ran out and want some more but I have no idea what it's called. Either the general type of glue or a brand name would be great. Any ideas?

Questions:
1) What's the dollhouse that it came with made of? Wood? Plastic? Something else?
2) Does the glue have an obvious smell (don't take a big whiff, but can you tell it has some kind of solvent)?

Response by poster: Ah sorry the dollhouse kit is mainly paper and wood, and it works great for that, but also good for sticking down plastic and metal bits as long as there is some kind of texture to grab on to.

It smells very lightly solvent-y. Not as strong as, say, nail polish (and a different kind of smell) but it's definitely not 100% non-toxic, lol.

Best answer: Sounds something like E6000. Clear, dries somewhat flexible. General, all purpose.

Even if it's not that, it's a pretty good glue to use for those situations.

From your description it sounds like the synthetic-resin-based glue that's sold in Europe under the brand name UHU.

Use good ventilation and a mask when using E6000! Lots of beaders use it and it will cause lung issues and other problems if you don’t.

I would not use E6000 for something with as much gluing as a dollhouse kit, because it is toxic stuff and more designed for sticking things to metal than paper.

There are much better options out there. Grandmother Stover’s glue seems popular, and I use Aleene's Tacky Glue and Gorilla Glue for a lot of paper craft.
