Finding a cover for an odd duvet?

I found a clean, nearly new duvet that I'd like to reuse - it needs a cover, though, and I'm not having much luck finding one in its dimensions (70x75").

I'm in the US, and this is close to, but not an exact match, for any of the standard sizes. Is this possible a European size? Search so far is failing me on finding a good match, so any insights from MeFites sharper than me will be hugely appreciated.

Maybe check out muji sizes?

Best answer: Looks like RV sheets have something close to 70x75 - a "Short King". Maybe that's it?

If you own a sewing machine, you could alter a larger cover pretty quickly and easily. Maybe ask a tailor if they'd do it?

Looking at the Marks and Spencer's website (UK), the duvets for a double bed are 78" x 78".

If you go the alterations route, this is going to be a quick and easy job for someone who handles quilts (ask at a local fabric shop or contact a local quilting guild). It can be done on a home machine but in my experience, large items can be tricky unless you have a quite large table as the weight of the fabric can cause your needle to break or other problems.

Can you find something a little smaller commercially? The advice for pillow shams is to use a (for example) 20x20 pillow form in a 18x18 pillow cover. Having a slightly too small duvet cover will ensure it doesn't move/fall to one side and feel plush and fancy.

A duvet cover that is either a little too big or a little too small is probably going to be fine, there's no precision in this. If it's a lot too big you can tuck the bottom under the mattress to hold it in place (says the manic duvet fighter).

My duvet is a UK sized double, and Ikea covers from US stores work fine with it. I never even thought to check the size.
