Getting manila folders in France?
I want to organize all my papers using manila folders, or more generally any simple and cheap letter-sized folders with tabs on the top to put labels on. It turns out that while this is a standard office product in North America &mdash practically the stereotypical office item &mdash it just doesn't exist in France, where I live. The company that sells office supplies to the place I work is apparently the biggest one in France, and there's no trace of these in their big fat catalogue. Even the many branches of Office Depot here don't have this product; employees in one of their stores were mystified when I pulled one out to show them what I was looking for. Suggestions on how to get these without paying a lot to get them shipped here from abroad? Anybody know of anywhere these are sold here?

I can't speak for doctors or lawyers, but I just got a manuscript shipment from France (stuff for a freelance gig), and each section is organized with a large double-sized sheet of paper (slightly heavier weight than regular printer paper) wrapped around it. I have to admit that my first thought was "haven't they heard of Manila folders in France?" So now I have my answer.

You may have a problem with letter-sized manila folders not being long enough for A4 sheets. Legal-sized folders would work, but they're huge.

No, they just fit. I still have some A4 paper from when I was in Holland, and it's exactly the length of the manila folders I "borrowed" from work in Canada.
And I really don't think France has the manila folders, so if I were paul I'd take ruby.aftermath up on the offer.
But, as a last resort in looking for cheap office supplies in france: wait until all the school supplies are being sold in the hypermarchés for the new school season. That should be soon.

Hey, that looked fine in preview and now it doesn't. Hypermarches-with-accent.

And I'm more serious than I'd like to think I would ever be about folders. You can email me at my user name at gmail.
