ID Male Singer in Sleigh Ride by The Carpenters

Who is this particular singer in the Carpenters' cover of Sleigh Ride? It's not Richard, is it? I ask because this guy's voice absolutely ruins the song for me every time I hear it.

I once worked in an office where they just loved holiday music. At one point I had a coworker on one side playing the standard instrumental version at the same time as the coworker on the other side played the Jim Nabors version. That Carpenters version would have fit right in to the aural hellscape.
