Find this dress!

I saw a wedding guest with the most lovely dress & I didn’t get a chance to ask her about it. Can you help me find it? The details: floor/ankle length, dark sage field with dark dusty orangish floral pattern in velvet, backless, with a tie strap on one side and what looked like a spaghetti strap on the other. Low (but not below the breast) cowl neckline. Not looking for “here’s something you might like instead!” answers, I just want This Dress.

The floral print was large, think palm-to-hand sized motif.
The skirt was loose but not ruffled or voluminous.
I might have the colors reversed- it could be orangeish with green florals.
There were no other colors- only the two.
The dress was definitely NOT all velvet, only the floral pattern. The dress appeared to be some sort of silky synthetic?
The floral pattern covered the dress all over, like the whole thing was made from the same velvet-on-not-velvet fabric.
The dress overall had a fall sort of color scheme. I say “dark sage”
I think I could see her shoes but it definitely was long.
The gal wearing it was probably mid-20s.
The wedding was semi-formal, most men had a jacket or a tie, but not both.

Apologies if you've already tried this, but if it was the wedding of someone you know, could you ask the bride or groom if they know who it was and could ask that guest on your behalf?

or failing that are there wedding photos where there light be a shot of the dress?

The fabric sounds like it might be burn out velvet.

This doesn’t exactly fit, but I was also thinking velvet burnout. Cowl neck, spaghetti strap, green and orange flowers on a plum background, also seems like somewhere someone in their 20s would shop: Lulu dress

loulou beat me to the first close find. I also see this dress from Free People, which I don't think is the one you want, but maybe some of the terms in the description would be helpful in your search. This dress makes me suggest that you may want to include "copper" in your search for color.

Response by poster: Velvet burnout is very helpful!

I’ve been digging on velvet recently! On Etsy and in The Outnet, I’ve also seen the term “devoré” - “devoured”, in French - used to describe burnout velvet patterns.

Is it this dress? Asos is a popular place for young women to shop. The dress is out of stock but it looks exactly like your description.

Your description of the ties/straps makes me think this dress might be a little more unique. Would this be in the ballpark?
