Fixer-Upper Blogs?

Looking for home or garden renovation blogs - people writing about restoring or renovating their own house or garden. (If I can't bring myself to get to work, I may as well read about it...) Any recommendations?

I found this question from 2016 and read through those. Maybe it's all videos since 2016, but I thought I'd ask!

If you are on Instagram you can follow the tag #52weeksofhome. They're loads of people who post with that tag who also have blogs showing their DIY.

A few blogs:
House of Brinson
Renovation husbands

Blake Hill House

Look on Pinterest and then click through photos that interest you (especially how-to or DIY posts) to get to their blog where the full process is often documented.

Manhattan Nest started out fixing up his NYC apartment, then bought and started renovating a house outside NYC. It’s not done but he’s taking on other projects—some his own properties, some as a paid job.

Making it Lovely used to do more of this as well but hasn’t been terribly active lately. She creates fun mood boards for rooms to compare furniture, colors, etc.

The Faux Martha made a rental cabin (which you can now rent out) and posted on her blog. It has dreamy window packages but is also frustrating because everything is sponsored so it features expensive materials.

Yellow Brick House is in Chicago.

I see some of the ones I mention are in that 2016 post. While I have no proof, it feels content is pushed more to Instagram and not personal sites as much these days (or personal sites as a second thought). I think newsletters and blogs are making a comeback though, so maybe you’ll find more 2020-era remodels.

MeFi's own orange swan posts about her house, specific links in her profile. I always enjoy seeing what she's up to.
