Help finding glasses for a kid's costume

My son needs to dress up as Theodor Geisel (Dr. Seuss) for a school project. I'm having a hard time finding glasses he can use (without lenses, obv) and I'm hoping some other MeFite can point me in the right direction.

A Google image search for Theodor Geisel bring up a lot of pictures of him wearing large square glasses. I figure even medium sized adult glasses could work as they'd look large on my son's face. I've tried searching Amazon and Ebay, but can't seem to come up with the right search terms. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to look?

Best answer: Searching for "square aviator frames" will get you some similar ones - not quite the same, but at least in the right ballpark and at a better price than buying vintage.

A lot of drugsores (etc) now have blue-blocker glasses with plano lenses in them. I think I got mine either on Amazon or at a drugstore or maybe Best Buy or similar?

The shape reminds me of sunglasses. Try the dollar store for cheap sunglasses with easily removable lenses.

Best answer: This pair by Zenni looks right and it's cheap.

Zoomed in they look like thick plastic clear frames - the closest I found was this model. My google search was "square aviator sunglasses plastic clear frame". That model or very similar seems to be available at Amazon and various other online frame shops so you might be able to find it locally too. Goodwill or something similar might have a selection you could pick through.

When I had to wear glasses for a theatrical production, I got fake ones with clear lenses from either Claire's or Icing.
How about something like this?

Definitely look for cheap reading glasses or cheap sunglasses, you can push the lenses out from the back of both if they are plastic (or undo the tiny screws and release the lenses if they are metal) - if they won't budge, quickly warm the plastic with a hairdryer!
