Taste tester - snack edition?

I got myself a marshmallow advent calendar this year. Each marshmallow has a clue and then underneath it tells you the flavor. Turned out to be a fun little game with my non marshmallow loving husband. Smell it, take a bite, guess the flavor. Are there any other kits or gifts available year round so I can keep this going?

You can do this with almost any good mixed chocolate box. Get a Recchiuti black box, for instance. You'll have to refer to the card rather than to the box, but it's fun (I've played this game myself).

There are Harry Potter jellybeans that come in weird flavours. For the most part the jellybeans don't taste like what they're supposed to, but for some they might and I just wouldn't know (earwax flavour). You can also just do this with Jelly Belly jellybeans as well as those come in tons of flavours too, although they tend to be closer to what they're supposed to be.

I bought this Delysia chocolate advent calendar as a gift and it was very well received. Per the description, "Each truffle is flavored based on holiday culinary traditions from around the world," and the whole deal "comes with a card offering 25 hints to help you better guess which flavor each truffle is and which country it is representing. At the bottom of the card, there’s a link to allow you to go online and learn more about these holiday traditions, including trivia, articles examining each country, and even recipes to bake your own dishes the truffles are based on."

Trader Joe's has a caramel sampler that is meant for you to taste and guess the flavors. However it's extremely popular and it might be a little tough to find at this point, like many TJ's seasonal items.

On the opposite end of marshmallows, but I got the Fuego hot sauce boxes to test out hot sauces in my breakfast eggs. It’s been fun figuring out the flavor profiles and guessing how spicy it is.

michaelh, me too, and based on a google result that says "TikTok Loves This Gourmet XO Marshmallow Advent Calendar..." I bet it's this one (now discounted, even)!

There's always Beanboozled if you would like an element of ... disgust. Identical looking jelly beans have different flavors, one traditional, and one gross. The package I had was set up as a game. There's two episodes of a podcast from America's Test Kitchen, Proof , which goes into a lot of detail on how the odd flavors like "dirty socks" were developed.

(When I tasted these I honestly couldn't always tell if I was tasting a sweet version of lawn clippings vs. lime, and one of my friends thought that the toothpaste jelly bean was pretty tasty.)
