iPad games like "Burds"?

My dad was really into the iPad game Burds, but after some software-updating or grandchild-tampering the game is no longer on his iPad. And since it's not available on the app store, he can't redownload it. Anyway, he is bereft so I would love suggestions for games that are similar, thank you!

Maybe try Two Dots

I never played Burds, but it looks like it may have the same kind of game play as Crunch Time and Cookie Cats. Different look to the animation of course, and cats not burds.

I used to love Two Dots, but as it progressed it gradually became Candy Crush. I felt betrayed because if I wanted to play that game I could have.

I haven’t played Burds either, but perhaps Best Fiends might be up your dad’s alley? I found it so addictive that I actually had to delete it from my phone. I hope it’s still available in 20 years, after I retire.

I used to love Two Dots

I also went off Two Dots, but still play the original Dots, which has much less of a Candy Crush vibe. Might suit?

Orba has similar connect-the-dots gameplay, but you're trying to clear the screen (no more dots fall after the level starts).

There's a video of the gameplay which might help identify which games are similar.

Might be a long shot, but on the app store (make sure you're signed in), check under "Purchases" for items you've previously bought, rather than searching on the main store. There have been a couple times where an app was discontinued and no longer visible on the main store, but because I'd already bought it, I could still re-download it.

Check "not on this iPad". There's a way to do it. e.g. I have a very old iPad and it can't run current Netflix but it does give the option to download most recent compatible version if I dig through those menus.
