Mazda 3 Transmission Mount, With or Without Weight?

The transmission mount for the 2005 Mazda 3 has options "w/ weight" and "w/o weight". Some parts don't specify. What is this weight?

I assume there are similar options for other cars out there, but nothing shows up in a search with generic terms. How do you know which one you need?

It's clearer on picture 2 of each type (with weight, without). Looks like some added mass to (presumably) dampen or reduce reverberations.

Can you see what you currently have and replace that? If not - I guess it's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

If it's hard to see which kind you've go on the car in advance w/o disassembly, @ $20ish each, you could order one of each type to be prepared and return the one that doesn't match what's in there. You could also order an OEM part from a wholesale Mazda parts seller - dealers are capable of looking up parts by the VIN rather than by description.

As another very informal data point, here's a Honda transmission mount with a weight available on Amazon, where someone asks the question:

What is the metal block bolted to the side used for?

and someone answers:

Vibration counterweight
