How do I stop my Mac's calendar from changing the time for events?

Sometimes when I put in the time for an event in Calendar, my Mac changes the time. This happens immediately, and I have to reopen the event, edit it, and then it's usually fine. What's making this happen, and how do I stop it? It doesn't happen every time, and I haven't figured out the pattern for when it does happen. I have time zone support turned off, I never have events outside of this time zone, and the system date and time is correct.

I think you need to turn time zone support back on. My usual meetings are in a time zone on the opposite coast and as long as I configure my time zone, they appear scheduled in my time zone.

The Canlendar UI / UX is shit. Try this test:
* Double click in a day to create a new event
* click on the Hour of the time field (which defaults to 9 am in my calendar)
* slowly type the digits 1, then 2
* depending on how fast or slow you type, you will either get "12 am", or "1am" repalced by "2am".

It's a monstorouly bad UI, and I'm guessing you may simply be falling victim to it.

(The Timezone support idea is also valid, but this typing speed bug is much worse and more subtle in my opinion)

Are the times always wrong by the same amount? If so, is that amount equal to your local time zone’s offset from GMT? If so, you will need time zone support turned on, because the invitations are specifying the time as GMT with an offset and your own calendar is just accepting the GMT time as local time and ignoring the offset.

Response by poster: I use the 24-hour clock, and it's doing things like changing from 14:30 to 08:30 -- I don't remember if that's the exact change, unfortunately.

These are appointments I make, not invitations.
