I realised that I almost never watch videos where Black Americans talk about stuff that interests them. Can you recommend Youtube videos?
I love watching videos of Americans talking about their interests or just hanging out (even just reaction videos). Almost everything I watch is by White people. That sucks. I'd like to rectify that. (I myself am European, English is my second language.)
I prefer things like pop culture, crafts, how-to instructions, books, science, history nerdery... not so much hardcore finance, politics or sports. (And also, you know, nothing sexist or other -ist.)
I don't listen to podcasts because I really crave the visual elements!
Do you have any recommendations? Thanks!

D4Darious is a pretty good film/camera/creative process channel.
I don't think he has his own channel, but look for interviews and seminars with the cinematographer Bradford Young.

I have really enjoyed videos from the drummer Larnell Lewis, including this reaction video: Larnell Lewis Reacts To Snarky Puppy Drum Covers. (I've never listened to his band's actual music outside of videos like this! I just love to watch this guy nerd out about drumming!)
(I think he might be Canadian but hopefully that's American enough.)

My husband and I realized the same thing a while back, so we started making an effort to seek out Black YouTubers. Here are a few we watch pretty regularly. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for other recommendations. Thanks for asking about this!
Alphonso Dunn -- artist, teacher
DIY Creators -- YouTube maker, aimed at beginning, intermediate wood workers, hobbyists
Stove Top Kisses -- southern soul/comfort foods. We only watch this channel occasionally because my husband is from the south and is an amazing cook, and if he starts making these dishes, we're both gonna die: Deep Fried Brownie Sundae
ToolBox Divas -- YouTube maker, lots of DIY projects that anyone can do with a minimum of tools/experience
And one Hispanic/Latino channel:
Brian the Bootmaker -- boot/shoe repairs, resoles, some new designs. Hasn't posted in a while, but his archive goes back a few years.
Seconding Marques Brownlee (MKBHD) -- he makes amazing videos with insightful commentary about tech and cars.

Melina Pendulum makes videos about TV shows / pop culture
D'Angelo Wallace makes videos with analyses of social media controversy and how Youtubers behave badly. He describes his channel as "long-form videos about whatever I want".
The author of this channel's identity/race is a secret but TheCrafsMan SteadyCraftin has a lot of lovely videos about crafting.

I went down a bit of a rabbit hole about curly hair a while back, and watched a bunch of videos by Chizi Duru. I love seeing all of her hair styles and advice, even though that's not my hair texture at all.

Jeremy Fielding is an engineer; this ‘tube is part of a series on understanding motors, which uses motors taken out of broken things - washing machines, treadmills, like that. He does a lot of reuse plus sometimes just engineering something with all the tools.
Dandy Wellington is a jazz musician and dancer and a dandy; he talks about all of that and the history that crosses it.
NotYourMommasHistory is the channel of a professional living history performer working in NYC.
That Cello Guy doesn’t talk about the music he plays a lot, except when he’s collaborating, but the music speaks.

He doesn't have a channel that I know of but I really like hearing Dr. J Drew Lanham talking about Birding While Black and other aspects of birdwatching a hobby he's been doing his whole life. He's been recorded a lot of places talking about birding.

Briannah Jewel is a certified personal trainer who's studying to become an RD. She addresses health & fitness myths and does reaction videos on poor workout form by unqualified social media "influencers", especially the ones involved in pyramid schemes. And she has three adorable dogs who appear in her videos!
