Transfer entire text thread from Android phone to Windows 10

The built-in feature is slow and apparently doesn't allow one to transfer an entire (very long) thread. There seem to be dozens of apps - please recommend your favorite tried and true. Thanks

The Pulse SMS app allows remote access via PC or laptop to text messages. I use it as my default SMS app, as it's the best one I've found, but you could install it for one-off usage and use it to transfer the message thread.

I use SMS Backup+ to continuously back up all my text messages to a folder in my email account, which I can then access (and search!) on my computer.

Best answer: I used SMS Backup+ a few years ago, until I realised the app permissions granted it the ability to read or delete all of my emails, which I wasn't comfortable with.
