Looking For Slim iPhone 8 Case To Protect Screen And Back
July 9, 2020 11:42 AM

I hate bulky cell phone cases, but I am sick of dropping my iPhone and cracking it. I am looking for a case for someone that hates cases. I want something that is extremely low profile, muted color (black or grey), something that will protect the back and the front while still having good access to the buttons etc.

I want something that is extremely low profile, muted color (black or grey), something that will protect the back and the front while not blocking the camera and still having good access to the buttons etc.

I'd rather not have something that sticks on the front screen

Thank you in advance

I have a Spigen Slim Armor case that has kept my phone in one piece through multiple drops.

I've had the black Smartish Kungfu Grip (or its identical predecessor) on my iPhone 7 Plus and my wife has the previous version for the iPhone 6, and we both been totally happy with them. Just the other day my phone fell out of my pocket while I was biking down a highway and there wasn't even a scratch on the case or the phone. It's one of The Wirecutter's recommendations.

When I had an iPhone 6 I was happy with the Spigen Thin Fit case (except mine was clear plastic). Most cases these days put the volume/lock buttons on the outside of the case, but this one just has cutouts for the buttons instead, which I liked for preventing accidental button presses while handling the phone.

I've used Incipio DualPro iPhone cases on my last three iPhones with good results. Thin, no front covering, very low profile. They make a lot of other style cases, but it's the DualPro style that I like.

Another vote for the Smartish Kungfu Grip (ugh), based the Wirecutter recommendation. For the first time ever, I made it two+ years of having an iPhone without breaking the screen.

The GhostTek Nautical has a wrist strap, which is super helpful to prevent dropped phones.

I have this also, via Wirecutter's recommendation, and it's been fine. Slim enough to not make the phone feel bulky, decently grippy edges, and apparently reasonable protection because I haven't broken something yet. And, it was cheap.

I have had the Spigen liquid air armor in black on my iphone 7 for years. I am very very dropsy. Tile, concrete, multiple drops on the sidewalk, corner drops, face down drops, all did nothing.
