Snuggle in that CVS tape

My 10 year old son is on the spectrum and really likes to study and collect receipts; it's his favorite part of a grocery store trip besides treat day. Is there such a thing as a receipt blanket?
Months ago his dad saw this receipt rug from IKEA and my son still talks about it all the time. Alas, it is $99, and also a scratchy rug. What would be perfect is the same concept but as a blanket. My kiddo would love that to the ends of the earth.
I've tried searching for one but to no avail. And obviously we're not buying things right now, but finding this for his birthday later in the year would be incredible. Do you have any leads on where I could obtain this? I did think about making one with, like, marker pens or something, but it needs to look like a real receipt to count.
Thank you in advance; he, like everyone, is having a hard time right now, and knowing he could look forward to this would be huge.

Best answer: Couldn't you take a hi-res photo of a receipt and have it printed on a blanket at Shutterfly? They do this for any photo.

Spoonflower is a custom print on demand fabric supplier. I think uploading a bunch of favorites and then have them print out some yardage would be cool.

Or a hi-res photo of a whole bunch of receipts!

Best answer: Building on the Shutterfly rec, how about making a bunch of custom receipts (which you can add in-jokes and sweet sayings and things to), taking a few hi-res photos, stitching it together into a big receipt picture, and *then* printing it on Shutterfly.
You could do it as a gift, or as a project to work together on if you are stuck at home.

Society6.com will print your photo directly on a super snuggly blanket. Its really easy to set up and not that expensive. I've ordered lots of things from them before. Highly recommend.

Best answer: Would it be fun to invent a fake business every day with your kiddo, then overnight you can make a custom receipt using the website gemmy suggested. Then you can make the blanket using Society6 for his birthday.

That scarf reminded me of Nina Katchadourian, and clearly someone should photoshop her photos into being of receipts for this kid.

Totally not what you asked for but on the theme of receipts, Pip Thornton's "A Critique of Linguistic Capitalism" is completely wonderful.
It introduces an artistic intervention called {poem}.py, which fuses Google’s AdWords platform with poetry and code, producing receipts which itemise the "cost" of poems like Wordsworth's "Daffodils" (£24.14).

I have to second Spoonflower. There are a lot of fabric options, including just printing a throw blanket, duvet or other bedding. You can choose the one that makes the most sense for your son. They also make curtains, wrapping paper and temporary wallpaper.
Throw blanket examples can be found here.

I will 2nd that the CVS scarf is pretty neat, soft and warm. I can say that it is considered 'high fashion' at a place I work. The coupons are out of date though, and will not scan.

Response by poster: Thank you all! These are wonderful ideas. He is working on his own receipts (mostly buying things from Harry Potter & Peter Rabbit that cost a million dollars) and then we'll get it all printed in the future. He's really excited by the project!
