Help me use 100g / 3.5 oz of Ground Almonds
December 13, 2019 9:04 AM
I have 100g of ground almonds left over from a recipe I tried. Looking for sweet or savoury recipes to use it up. I did think of brownies or some sort of cake but I don't think 100g is enough and I don't want to buy more. Looking forward to your tasty suggestions!
it is a great, gentle skin cleanser, especially mixed with honey.
Or chuck it in your muesli / porridge, or stir into a yogurt with some fruit.

If they're not too finely ground, you could use them to make toffee.

Cauliflower crust pizza is close enough to 100g and the recipe is very forgiving.

Use it traded out for flour in any bread or cake recipe, but not more than 1/2 of the flour. 1/3 is about the best, it will also have its own oil inside that becomes part of the recipe, and moistens baked goods.

You can just add to brownie/ muffin/ cookie batter/ dough scratch or a mix, or use in place of some flour in (apple) crisp topping. You could add to most box cakes, the flavor will be subtle and pleasant.

Lots of Indian dishes call for ground almonds or ground cashews. Something like this chicken korma might work.
I'm not sure how much 100g would be by volume, so if you don't have enough for that korma, I can recommend this butter chicken as an alternative --- I have used almond flour in place of the "10 almonds, soaked, peeled and made into a paste" many times.

Shortbread! I use that shortbread to make sandwich cookies with raspberry curd.

I regularly swap flour in waffles for some amount of ground almonds and usually add a bit of almond extract. No recipe because waffles are very forgiving and I often just add whatever amount of anything that seems good. They are an easy way to use up baking odds and ends.

I'd make macarons.
This recipe is still the best I've found, 12 years later.

This Ottolenghi Blueberry, Almond and Lemon cake, from Simple, uses 110g. It would be fine with 100g. It's delicious.
