Public transport in Spain

We're taking our 18-year old nephew to Spain in September, staying in Cadiz, then one night each Gibraltar and Tangier. We'd like to travel between Cadiz, Gibraltar and Tarifa on buses or trains. I've been doing some research, and it seems like the buses to and from Gibraltar take just under two hours each. Is there an easier way to do this, maybe by going to La Linea de la Concepcion in Spain? Thanks for your help! (FYI, not looking to change our itinerary, just want suggestions on how best to do it. Very happy for suggestions on what to do in each place.)

By the looks of things, the San Roque-La Linea station is on the Granada line, whereas Cadiz is at the end of the Seville-Jerez line - so trains probably aren't going to help you unless you go Cadiz->Seville->Granada->San Roque, which takes you quite a long way out of your way and is unlikely to be quicker. I think buses or taxis are probably your best bet.

According to Rome2Rio, the bus takes between 2.5-2.75 hours with a change in Algeciras. There seem to be several companies doing this route (I've never done it myself).

You can definitely cross the border on foot between La Línea and Gibraltar - and this can be much faster than going in a vehicle depending on the vehicle queues.

I have just messaged a relative in Gibraltar, who recommends a bus between Cádiz and Tarifa for the trip to Tangier. She also suggests La Línea as the destination for Gibraltar, and notes that you may need to change in Algeciras, but that there are lots of buses between Algeciras and La Línea.
