Operational guides which help people perform tasks more effectively?

I’m looking for some examples of some outstanding operational guides which help people perform tasks more effectively and safely.

These can be generalist (manual handling guide, "rules of the road" type guides etc.) or specialised (paramedic checklist). Bonus points if the guides contain mnemonics. Suggestions from any area of life or any industry sector welcome.

I don’t know if “safely” applies here, and it’s from a different time, but: The M16A1 Rifle Operation and Preventive Maintenance 1969 comic book.

Incident Response Pocket Guide, 2018 Edition - small pocket guide filled with lots of checklists, organization structure, acronym and mnemonics. The very first page following the index is the Operational Leadership - a great succinct guide.

Field Operations Guide For Disaster Assessment and Response, 389 pages. Contains numerous individual unit specific instruction and guidance. Available on Amazon. The USAID Ops Guide is enormous. The U.S. EPA, U.S. DoE, FEMA, U.S. Coast Guard and others have operational guides.

If you want to confirm individual task performance you might want to look at a sample task book evaluation form.

Re; individual task performance and task books. Some Task Books are good and many are awful. With diligent searching you should be able to find at least one that is very good. Here's a randomly selected task book as an example of the detail of knowledge and skills that a performance task book deal in.

Response by poster: Thanks guys for all the suggestions.

The Incident Response Pocket Guide as suggested by X4ster comes closest to what I'm looking for.

If anyone else has any similar suggestions - that would be great!
