How do I Kindle on my iPhone?

I would like to read an acquaintance's self-published novel, which is a Kindle book for sale on Amazon. But I don't want an e-reader. Is it possible to buy it to read on my iPhone? Thanks!

Best answer: Yes, I do this on my iPhone quite a bit. I recommend you go in and play with the settings and you can change the font size and so on to make it more user-friendly on the small screen. It’s not as relaxing as sitting back with a book but it’s quick and portable.

Best answer: A little additional commentary. Besides the e-readers, Amazon supports the Kindle format in phones, tablets, and in browsers, so you can read a Kindle formatted book on your phone or in a browser. However, unlike the web browser and the e-reader, you can't actually buy books from inside the app on the iPhone. You'll need an extra step in a web browser to buy your friend's novel and then send it to the iPhone.

1. Download the Kindle reader app to your phone.
2. Fire up the app and register; I'm assuming you already have an Amazon account, just use that.
3. Open your Safari browser on the iPhone. Make sure you are logged in to Amazon with the account that your Kindle app is registered under.
4. Find your friend's book in the Kindle store
5. When you find it, tap "buy now with 1-click". Make sure you are buying the Kindle version and not accidentally buying a physical version if it is published in multiple formats.
6. Then select "read now" and it should show up in your Kindle reader app.
