What is this song?

Easy listening, soft pop. A female vocalist; the song has some quieter, almost harpsichord-like sequences. I have hummed part of the melody which she sings a few times. I did not write down, nor can remember, any lyrics (argh!). It was playing over the sound system of a bar of a large hotel in England. The bar staff did not know (they did not have access to the CD it was apparently on). Neither the hotel branch, nor their central HQ, have responded to emails. Heard it about a month ago.

It reminded me of Florence + the machine, but I couldn't tell you which song.

Checked it out; no (female vocalist!).

No (female vocalist!).
> Florence + the machine, but I couldn't tell you which song.
Very unlikely, as the female vocalist has a much quieter, softer, and higher pitched voice with less depth than Florence Welch. Have quickly run through their albums to confirm.
> Tom's Diner?
No (though an excellent song, which reminded me to check out Suzanne Vega's back catalogue).

No, though she does some interesting songs, so thanks.
A few off-thread responses have pointed to the same artist - Sui Zhen. While that may be right - vocally sounding very similar to what I heard - I've gone through videos of Sui's and not found the tune.

No - and options exhausted (plus the hotel won't respond with track listing data). I have Shazam on my phone just in case I hear it again.
