I wanna blow up Klingons in this particular way

The Star Trek mainframe game has been ported and rewritten many times. In my youth, I played graphical shareware versions for DOS and Windows, and they were generally terribly buggy.
Is there a currently-maintained version of this game that I could play? In order to be the right thing, it would have to have sectors, scanners, starbases, and the general gameplay flow of the originals. It's OK if it's not Trek-branded.
You can find a Z-Machine version here, there's a playable version on that page (many other ancient versions here)

You can play apple trek : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive via an emulator. This is more 80x24 graphic-ish. I'd bet there are other old versions for different OSs that can be emulated available.
