Rubber Jacket, You're The One
February 14, 2006 12:17 PM

Hi friends. I have a terribly ratty jacket, called the Quiksilver Rubbermaid. It's about four years old, falling apart, made of rubber but looks (from enough of a distance, I guess) like leather. I would love to replace it with an identical jacket. I can't find it anywhere, these days. Now, I understand that Rubbermaid sent a cease&desist so they changed the name, but I can't find mention of the new name anywhere either. Here's a page with a bit of information on it. Any ideas? (Sites with out-of-stock listings not needed.)

I have seen not that exact jacket but things very similar; look for "rubberized canvas" or "rubberized cotton".

(it looks like something standard dkny or kenneth cole reaction or guess might make)

you may also want to look at waxed cotton jackets. altho that would not give quite the same texture/look.

Ebay listings for Quicksilver jackets. Is it in there?

I do see one on eBay, but in a size medium. (I need XL, for this particular cut.)

But it would appear that the jacket is called "Hang Time" these days...?

If you search for Quicksilver Hangtime Jacket (no space betwen Hang and Time), you'll get a bunch of hits. Some of them look out of stock, but you can call and see if they have one XL left.

Thanks barnone. It looks promising as there are indeed a few hits, but once you click on them it becomes apparent that the sites don't actually list the product anymore.
