What trashy reality TV should I be watching?

It’s too late now for me to catch up on Love Island. I finished Jersey Shore: Family Vacation already. I loved the original Teen Mom but Teen Mom: OG isn’t doing it for me. What trashy reality TV from 2018 should I be watching? (If reality TV isn’t your thing, just walk on by. All the more for me to watch!)

Have you seen Face Off before? It's not trashy, it's actually quite well done and people are nice to each other, so if you're looking for ONLY trash sorry...but if there's a chance you've never seen Face Off imo it's an absolute must for every reality TV fan.

Check any streaming services you're subscribed to for reality shows that were cancelled after only a season. I've been out of the trash reality TV game for a while, but historically have found some real gold with some so-bad-it-got-cancelled digging.

Also, you will probably really enjoy this youtube video.

There's a new season of Bridezillas on WeTV. Vanderpump Rules and Million Dollar Listing are easy to jump in and out of without following character "development" too closely. 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After is so satisfyingly cringeworthy. Floribama Shore is OK. I think i just have more affinity for Jersey Shore because I am a lifelong Jersey Shore vacationer and my retirement dream is to live at the Jersey Shore and drink rum and cokes every night at some bar on the bay.

Vanderpump Ruuuuuules!!! Southern Charm. Real Housewives of Atlanta and New York (and maybe Dallas). And listen to Bitch Sesh and Everything Iconic for breakdowns and more reality tv inspiration.

90 day fiancee, and all the various iterations (before the 90 days, happily ever after) are pretty great trash. Also Below Deck Mediterranean for all your inane drama needs.

This is the best season of Big Brother in years, and it's early enough that you can go back.

Been enjoying Big Brother a whole bunch, as well as The Bachelorette, this season. My girlfriend got me into both of them and I'm actually really glad she did! It's a ritual now to share it with friends and comment about it the whole time.

I got sucked into Real Housewives of New York last night and good lord did it scratch the trashy reality tv itch. Seconding 90 Day Fiance, Below Deck Med, Vanderpump Rules.

Vanderpump Rules is the sole reason I keep paying for TV on my PlayStation Vue. I round it out with Below Deck (and Below Deck Med), and the increasingly infrequent Flipping Out, but Vanderpump is my favorite trashy TV. My boyfriend hates trashy reality TV but can tell you all about the different Toms and why Kristen is both the best and worst. Definitely try Vanderpump, though I recommend going back a few seasons first if you're able. I think this most recent season focused a lot on a "the gang tries to grow up" arc that isn't as satisfying if you don't know their histories.

The well publicized RHONY boat ride from hell is coming up in one or two episodes and I am here for it. I have scary island-adjacent expectations for it. Just saying - I agree that now's a good time to catch up with the NY Housewives in anticipation.

Seconding this season's Big Brother,, best season in AT LEAST a decade, so far...

Big Brother Canada, on the other hand, always delivers :)

I am hooked on the show Just Tattoo of Us from MTV UK. Plenty of it is on YouTube and other sources. It's a mix of Geordie Shore "stars" and regular people where two people design tattoos for each other, and each person can't see the tattoo until it's already been inked. It's horrible and I love it.

I heard about about MTV's Are You The One? on a podcast (note: this merely comes up casually in conversation) and it sounded amazing and terrible in a way you'd likely enjoy. The 2018 season doesn't start until August, but there are 6 previous seasons you can stream via MTV.

You should check out the Joel McHale show on Netflix for a good cross-section of what's going on in trashy TV. Use it as a stepping stone in your quest for TV garbage

Are You the One is good. And The Challenge - currently on season 32, I believe.

The recent Ex on the Beach on MTV was also enjoyable.

Seconding Below Deck Mediterranean. The guests and the crew are all delightfully awful!

Nthing The Challenge, Are You the One, Ex on the Beach, and Below Deck Med. (My husband and I do love Love Island though too - you’d be surprised how quickly you can get through that many episodes, particularly if you watch the weekly recap episodes rather than the several episodes a week in which not all that much happens.)

We like to watch My 600 Pound Life. It's not trashy on the level of the other shows and in fact can be down right heartbreaking, but there's always someone to yell at on the TV, be it the patient who sneaks a bucket of chicken on the diet or a sabotaging spouse. (Those really grind my gears!) So if you like to cheer people on or need to yell at the TV occasionally, it's a good one. (Also, some people do quite well and it's really inspiring!) It's too late for the current season because they're already into the 'where are they now' episodes, but you don't need to watch them in order or anything, so reruns are fine.

Recently home bound with a surgery, so I've been binge watching trash tv lately. Below Deck Mediterranean is one of my favorites; but I've been expressly interested in 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After - especially since one of my very good friends grew up with one of the participators on that show. (David! of David and Annie!!) It's a sort of train wreck I can't tear my eyes away from, and I enjoy every moment.
