Dashboard Woes

Please help me close multiple instances of the Widget Manager in OSX 10.4.4

I have two Widget Manager windows open in Dashboard that can't be closed. When I click on 'Manage Widgets' a third fully functional Widget Manager is spawned. Both uncloseable Widget Managers had two glitchy widgets, 'Overflow text case, it should overflow' and 'one more is four' that I was able to delete but they always reappear within a few minutes.

I've deleted all the widget.pls files. I have no widgets running now. Activity monitor shows three Widgets DashboardClient processes. When I try to force quit any of them they just pop right back. Rebooting doesn't solve the problem.

I'm running 10.4.4 on a 20" iMac Core Duo (this is the only bug I've encountered so far).

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks.

Best answer: Tried moving* ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.dashboard.plist and com.apple.dashboard.client.plist?

*move instead of delete, so you can revert if it doesn't help

Have you tried killing the processes in the terminal?

Response by poster: Wow. That was fast. I moved the plist files then logged out. When I logged back in the problem was fixed. Thanks very much!
