What roughly 2000 -era rag-timey minor song features the heavily UK accented lines: 'it was living with Jackie that made me finally happy.' and, 'two fingers shoved right up your Jackson?' The recording is just acoustic guitar and keyboard, I believe.

I only turn to y'all when google (and google+) fails me utterly. If it helps: I think it was featured on a CD accompaniment by The Believer, around the late 2000s. God speed, you blue/green god and goddesses of knowing about it.

by the way, I need this for a job interview I'm currently in, so time is a factor...

Believer CDs with track listings, by year: 2005; 2006; 2007; 2008; 2009; 2011. (All Believer CDs on the list.) Maybe that will help you narrow it down?

Livin' with Betty is immediately where my mind jumped as well.

Best answer: I don't know if it was included on a sampler from The Believer but it was on one from Uncut.

Response by poster: Thanks to both of you for sorting out my faulty memory. I was working at Borders in the late aughts and was able to get free leftover magazines (with the covers ripped off). So, yeah lot's of Believers and lots of Uncut CDS. Thanks everyone!

And yes, I nailed the job interview after stalling for an hour and a half by initiating a paper football tournament with my folded up resume. Hot tip: always let the hiring manager win.

Glad we nailed it. That was an especially great compilation CD - a lot of great music on it and a really good flow.
