I have and will have more caramel on my hands soon. Any suggestions for how to use it up? Preferably as a pie filling. Thanks yin!

caramel apple pie

Make an apple crumble (cobbler) but insert a layer of caramel on top of the fruit. Grown men weep when they taste this for the first time.

If you have pastry to use up then maybe an apple pie base with a caramel and crumble topping. Yum.

when I make this caramel-bottom chocolate stout pie, I make the caramel specifically for it, and I'm not sure what consistency or quantity of caramel you'll have. (The grand marnier is also a nice addition to the overall flavour.) But I can attest that it is a very good pie -- particularly if you use a nicer quality of chocolate than that recommended in the recipe.

Vanilla ice cream, warm caramel sauce, roasted peanuts and/or almonds. Delicious!

Make your own caramel frappucinos at home.

Dip green apples in it.

Pour it into candy molds, chill it, and dip it into dark chocolate. Sprinkle with kosher salt. Put into pretty packages and give to friends for special occasions.

you can make some bougie caramel tuiles by grinding them up and dusting them over a silpat and doing a quick bake to glue them into a fancy shape. they're a fabulous pie topper.

Response by poster: I had to pick one to make last night and I made caramel apple pie for the tartelettes and they worked out great! Unfortunately I have too much filling left over. Ideas for getting rid of that in a non-pie shape?
