I would like to buy an unlocked Android phone to use with cricket for around $250 that meets my requirements. Also, I know nothing about Chinese phones. Please help.

Pretty simple - I want to go on Swappa, or some other verified site, to buy a good phone (used or refurbished is definitely okay!) for around $250. I've been on PCMag reading reviews for the various mid-range phones, but I feel so overwhelmed. I also want to maybe venture into new territory with a Huawei or Xiaomi phone, but again-I'm overwhelmed. Here are my priorities, in order.

1.a)cricket-ready, to where I could just walk into a store with it and have it activated
1.b)Good camera. Especially in low light. But, just a good camera.
2)Battery life. I had a cheap ZTE phone, one with the new style charger, and good god that thing lasts for days.
3)User interface/neat things. Nothing like Apple. I hate how the apps are sorted. But any cool usability features (voice activation, programmable volume button, etc) are a slight bonus!

I live in the very southeast region of virginia, if that matters.
<3 thanks y'all!

Best answer: Moto G5 plus. You can get it for around $230 unlocked, new. Excellent midrange phone.

Best answer: Seconding Moto G5 Plus. I got one a few months ago as a travel/backup phone. Spec wise, it exceeds my iPhone 6 in almost every category. The camera is better in low light. It is unlocked and should work for every carrier in the US and most countries around the world, which is not as common a feature as you would think. The battery lasted me about a day while I was using it, but I was essentially using it as a hotspot with a foreign SIM card and using it pretty hard on the data side. You might be able to get 2 days with normal use.
If performance is not that important, Motorola/Lenvo also have the Moto E4 Plus. It has a lower end processor and only 720p display, but the upside is the battery life is pretty extreme and it costs about half as much. The camera is also probably not as good.

Best answer: 3rding the Moto G5 Plus. If you are an Amazon Prime member you can get a discount by allowing Amazon ads on your lock screen. I stopped noticing them after about 2 days - totally unobtrusive, but saved me $50 on the phone.

Best answer: I also have and love a Moto G4 (not the Plus) and the camera is excellent. Unlike the 5, the battery is not removable; the ability to hot swap makes the 5 worth it.

Best answer: N'thing Moto G5 plus - I have a G4 plus, excellent phone for the price, and the G5 is just an iterative improvement. In terms of fancy UI stuff, I use the Moto karate chop motion to activate the torch all the time!

Best answer: LG G5 is available for $250. Has 2 cameras, removable battery and better higher rez screen than the Moto. If you do decide on the Moto, the G5S Plus is now available.

Best answer: Came in to say Moto G5 Plus. I bought it as an emergency stopgap when my fancier phone died and now I have no intention of upgrading. Keep an eye out for specials, it's been on sale for cheaper than the ad supported one more than once in the last month.

Response by poster: Absolutely perfect answer, all of you. The Moto G5 plus seems to be more than I was hoping for! Thanks, everybody!
