Batch deleting/setting to Only Me on Facebook for thousands of old posts

Hi folks. I am looking for a script to batch delete, or, alternatively, set to Only Me, all of my facebook posts. Removing comments and likes would also be great. I am also of course looking into friend audiences/making a public page/etc and into hand deleting/setting to Only Me, but I would really love a batch solution. Social Book Post Manager in Chrome on my Mac seems to be missing a lot of posts even at the slowest setting. What's worked for you?

I would also be up for considering hiring an agency to do this, and recommendations for such are welcome. This is such a time suck! Thanks for your suggestions, hive mind. :)

Response by poster: I should clarify about comments and likes - I mean removing comments and likes I've made on other folks' posts!

Also, avoiding the removal of posts I have made in groups would be great if possible.

You can already do this on Facebook in the privacy area, with "Limit the Audience for Past Posts".

Removing comments and likes on other folks' posts is going to be more complicated.

With the activity on other people's posts, it would be manual, but you could use the Activity Log (on a computer, go to the Question Mark in the top right, and down to Activity Log, on mobile, Menu > Activity Log) to have it all condensed in one spot to triage.

Other than keeping the friends list, is there a reason you don't nuke the account from orbit and start fresh?

I could be mistaken, but I believe this feature now only brings old public posts into friends only privacy. At one time you could hard limit old posts en masse, but now I think it's just to corral the public ones.

Response by poster: Keeping the friends list is important. I have a massive number of important contacts there.

Limit Past Posts moves public posts to Friends Only. I want to take it a step further than that.

Very grateful for the answers so far!

So if “friends only” is where it goes you need to go in and move your people to different lists. Create a new friend list called “the coolest people I know” or “business contacts” or whatever. If you don’t want them to be Friends I think you can just move them from Friends to another list.
