Rent A Corgi In Boston

My wife *loves* corgis. But for various reasons (job schedules, cat, etc.), it's not feasible for us to have one. For her 30th birthday, she's asked me to see if I can find a way that she could walk a corgi for an hour or two. Is this possible? Suggestions about how to do this? We're in Boston.

Best answer: I'd stop by a Boston Corgi meetup.

It looks like about 80 Corgis hit the beach on the last meetup. Eighty Corgis sound better than just one!

Purebred dog breeders all have clubs. If you search "corgi breeder club boston" you'll probably find several hits. Send some emails, call some phone numbers. I'm sure there's a breeder in your area who would let you come and hang out with their dogs for an hour, especially if you tell them you're considering getting a corgi in the future and want to get to know the breed a little better by spending time with one.

(When I did this before getting a border terrier I got to go hug a bunch of squirmy puppies. It was pretty great.)

Talk to local shelters, if you wouldn't find it too sad. If they have a corgi they nearly always need volunteers to walk them.
