My girlfriend is looking for a youtube video she watched several years ago. It was in the style of a 2d side scroller game, but it was a movie that became "progressively more and more epic." There were zombies.
Performing searches for this has been challenging. The artist may have a tumblr.

The same artist (Paul Robinson) also led the background and character graphics team for the excellent Scott Pilgrim vs. the World beat-em-up video game that came out in conjunction with the Edgar Wright movie adaptation a few years ago.
His tumblr is also consistently amazing.
