Help me find an old comic story about an alien!

The short version - I'm looking for a two-part story about an alien I remember from my childhood. I think it was in one of the Warren publications - Eerie, Creepy, or something similar. Very late 70s or early 80s, I think.

When I was a kid and into comics - and the only source of comics in my tiny town was the local drug store - my dad brought home a comic for me when I was had a bad flu. The main story (as I remember it now) was about an alien who'd crash landed and was helped back to health by a family, then became part of the family. Later, the alien was attacked by townsfolk and defended by the father, but the father was killed and the alien got revenge. And then the second part, the alien was attacked again and the son got revenge.

I have long ago lost the comic, though, and my memory of the story is pretty hazy. I would really like to find the source of the story and re-locate the issue. If anybody else remembers this, any tips would be greatly appreciated!

The Eerie and Creepy magazines have recently been re-collected and re-printed by Dark Horse (I think) but I haven't been able to figure out which volume might have the story (and don't really want to have to buy the entire set... well, I kinda do, but that's not financially wise). And it might not even have been Eerie or Creepy, but I'm like 89% sure it was one of those.

Anybody remember this?

Best answer: According to this summary, the sequel was The Pie and I, Eerie #72.

Here's Alex Toth's annotations for the first story.

Best answer: If they were both in the same comic, it was probably this 1977 ufo & alien themed Warren compilation.

Best answer: Assuming it's the story you're looking for, and that you're OK with digital, Eerie Archives Vol 13 and Vol 15 can be yours for $27.98 plus tax.
