Samsung S7 no DTMF tones

I have a Samsung S7 which is rapidly becoming useless since I cannot send any DTMF tones, meaning I cannot choose an option when I call any company helpline. How can I fix this?
I have no option to switch the tone length to long in settings. Is there maybe a short code I can use to force it?

For what it's worth, I have an S7 and the steps linked by brainmouse above take me to the Normal/Long DTMF tones option.

Also, are you using the standard phone application?

Response by poster: I'm using the standard phone application and I don't have that menu item (those are the steps I tried).

Which carrier?

How do you dial out without a carrier? VoIP? If so, there are multiple ways to handle DTMF (which is originally an entirely analog standard), and it could be that Android doesn't support (or isn't compatible with) whatever standard your VoIP provider uses. I'd check the settings on the VoIP side to see if there are some knobs to tweak.

I just dial. No VOIP. (I do have a sim card in it, sim-free means it's bought without a tie to a network, the phone isn't sold with a sim card or phone contract).
