How to help efforts at preventing a conservative Supreme Court appointee

The GOP long made it clear they will do everything they can to help Trump appoint a conservative Supreme Court justice. What can be done to prevent this or at least mitigate the possible impact?
I'm just a rando on the net, not particularly much of an activist nor possessed of political savvy or social connections. Still, if there's something that people like me can do, I'd like to know and tell my friends to help as well.

Sign the petition to Joe Biden to confirm Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court. It's some parliamentary dirty tricks but it's the only way I can see.

Trump gets to nominate who he wants, so presuming he remains President the only things that could be done are influencing his choice, or preventing the confirmation of whoever he nominates. I don't think that he's going to be amenable to liberal persuasion, but it's possible that close scrutiny of his choices will delay their confirmation, or even frustrate it. I expect liberal groups to come forward with their concerns when there's a candidate on the horizon, and you will be able to assist them.

Judge Maryanne Barry is Trump's sister. She's not her brother, and the only reports on her politics I've been able to find by some lame-ass Googling are a bit mixed. Donald has reportedly said that appointing her would be a conflict of interest, but ... that doesn't mean it couldn't happen.

Sorry, did not want to turn this into a trump-debate-thread, but while probably not a liberal Judge Barry is probably more balanced than 99.99% of other possibilities, but tough for the GOP Senators to slam around.

My general though about Trump is that he's an old school horse trader. And dems are making a mistake trying to butt heads. Find a "deal" that makes more sense than what the GOP have and it'll be a classic winwin.

Please be advised, that Maryanne Barry is heavily implicated in Trump having eluded serious charges re: Mafia involvement with his New York construction business.

I don't know enough to say whether this would actually be feasible, but there are petitions out there calling on Obama to make a (temporary) recess appointment to the Supreme Court.
