Stylish clock ideas

I like clocks. And soon I'll be moving into a new place and would like to get three stylish clocks to put in various locations of my place. I want clocks that aren't exactly run-of-the-mill. Think unusual, conversation-starting clocks such as the Kit-Cat Klock from the 1930s (probably one of the three clocks will be a vintage black or red Kit-Cat Klock). I'm mostly looking for wall clocks and both new and vintage clock recommendations are welcome.

Cuckoo clock? I like the minimal ones, personally.

The George Nelson "ball clocks" are classics of modern design. There are knockoffs all over.

Definitely not cheap if you're looking for an original, but my grandparents had this Peter Max clock when I was a girl and I remember just gazing at it in wonder.

What about a 7 day clock? It isn't that useful, but it's unusual and interesting.

I love this George Nelson clock, although some people find it creepy.

Go to the source of time; get an orrery. In the real world, time isn't measured from the big hand circling the dial, it's measured from the Earth spinning and circling the sun, so a mechanism that is based on that is ten times as interesting :)

I am a huge fan of these House Industries collaboration with Heath Ceramics clocks. They're stylish and a little out the ordinary but also not over the top.

Of the many, many, clocks we seem to have collected over the years, two of the more unusual that I think fit your criteria are the binary clock (that seem to fascinate computer geeks) and what are simply called clever clocks, that are beautiful as well.

Fish clock

The pictures make this look so much less gross than it would end up being, when the water gets full of fish food, both undigested and digested.

Not a wall clock, but this melting clock looks cool.

Not cheap, but you can get an Aurora or similar 1970s vintage color-changing clock direct from the inventor, Barry Gamble.

I have a wall clock from this Etsy shop. The mechanism is nothing special, but the laser-cut wood is very striking, and it's light enough to hang on a thumbtack. I also like this bee clock.

By no means a "design object", but this bird clock has sparked tons of conversations from people who visit our home.

heh. Came in here to pimp www.chainclocks.com (I make them) but see that somebody beat me to it.

So instead, I'll say that I really really like these:
