Portable Riser For A Tablet?

Looking for a small riser or contraption that will raise my Surface Pro 4 up 6-7" for ergonomics. Details inside.

Asking the hive mind before I end up getting crafty and building something myself (slightly difficult as I don't have access to that many tools). I currently use a Surface Pro 4 Tablet, and I work at coffee shops a lot. I've purchased a bluetooth keyboard in order to be able to separate the keyboard and the tablet and raise the screen up so it's more close to eye level.

However, I need a contraption that is lightweight and can fit in my backpack or bag. I need something about the size of a shoebox, but foldable.

I was wondering if there were any household or other items that might not exactly be meant for this purpose that could possibly work. I've combed Amazon looking for just such a thing and all of the items are much too large/heavy/bulky. Literally all I would need is a 12" x 7" platform with two legs that could fold out and make it into a small shelf to raise the tablet up 6 or more inches.

Given the nature of the Surface Pro 4 kickstand, it needs a FLAT surface to sit on. So tilted surfaces won't work. Another option could be an easel of sorts to put the tablet on as it could just lean back in tablet mode like an iPad.

Just seeing if anyone out there might know of an item that would work.

I used to use a foldable closet shelf -- sort of similar to this picture (but white instead of black) -- as a "lap desk" for my laptop while hanging out in a lounge chair. Bonus: the open grid design vented heat nicely.

I think I picked mine up at a place like Walmart of Target in the closet organizer section for not much money.

This Kickstarter is mainly for laptops, but maybe it could work for your tablet?

I use a Standstand as a standing desk/laptop stand. It's available in several heights, starting at 9". Folds flat for transport in my work backpack.

If something like this Cricket laptop stand would work for you, I have one that I do not use, and I would be happy to give it to you. (Mine's white, though, not green.)

It sounds like it's not what you're looking for since it's not flat, but the pictures at the link might give you some ideas?

an easel of sorts
Picture stands work well - check out the frame section of some stores to find a larger one that will hold your tablet.

Buy two 3M MS80B Monitor Stands and use the extra plastic risers to raise it to 6 to 7 inches.

Coffee shops use a lot of consumables, they may have small cardboard boxes lying around. Ask to use one and tape it shut using packing tape, set it on top of your table with your Surface Pro 4 and presto, you've got a laptop/monitor stand!

There was an IKEA stand up desk topic here on Mefi, I'm currently using a dining table chair on top of my dining room table as a monitor stand with a sturdy cardboard box as a keyboard and mouse stand.
