What was this Italian dessert?

Help me identify this Italian dessert that my wife had several years ago. She describes it as layers of Gorgonzola cheese, mascarpone cheese, and dried fruit. Possibly there were other elements but that’s all she remembers, aside from it being delicious.

For a little background, this dish was made by an Italian (possibly northern Italian) immigrant family in Atlanta who were importers of ingredients for a lot of Italian restaurants in the Atlanta area about 10 years ago (and maybe they still are?). The family sold this dessert from a now-defunct stand at the Sweet Auburn Curb Market in Atlanta.

As a bonus, if anyone has any recipes that approximate this description, I’d love to hear them!

Best answer: If you Google gorgonzola terrine or terrina, you'll find plenty of recipes for similar-sounding things, in English and Italian.

Best answer: I don't know exactly what she had, but I've made this a ton of times and definitely recommend it! I've always called it Dried Fig Terrina. My grandmother (from Naples) called it something I could never pronounce. She made it often and handed down the recipe. It has dried fruit, marscapone, and gorgonzola in it. I sometimes use dried cranberries and dates instead of the figs but it's probably best with the figs...definitely sweeter with them. It's gooey and sweet and good!
