Thanksgiving dinner on Cape Cod!!!

We have B&B reservations in Eastham, MA, for Thanksgiving - yay! Now where should we get our Thanksgiving dinner (and are we fully informed on all the cool things to do that weekend on the cape)?

We will be arriving on the afternoon of Thanksgiving, ~2 pm, so we won't be able to do any of the cape turkey trots (because we're doing another one elsewhere). We will stay on the cape until Saturday afternoon. In addition to finding a great Thanksgiving dinner, any events within that time span are of interest to us. We are also willing to drive a bit away from Eastham; events and dinner don't need to be right in Eastham or Orleans, etc (but awesome if they are are!).

I have googled for places to go for dinner and it seems like there are a lot of options, so I'm mainly looking for help in choosing amongst them. I don't really find any bad reviews, so it seems like most places are going to be satisfactory. But do you know a place that's really above average? For dinner, we are willing to spend some $$ - it seems like $50 per entree is pretty low/average and that is fine with us. Spending more is fine and especially for a really glowing review, but on the other hand, we're not trying to target something very fancy. (It seems like the higher end, fancier places are the ones that advertise more too, so I feel like our survey on google is biased). It would be great if there are non-turkey entree options, but we don't have any food restrictions.

Dinner attendees will be my husband and myself only; one last requirement is that wherever we go, we don't want to anticipate sideeye for being such a small group or a crappy table because they can squeeze us in behind a coat rack.

Just so you know: I have eaten as part of a party of two many many times on Cape Cod, and never had any trouble. Particularly in the off season, small groups and couples are the norm.

I don't know a whole lot about restaurants on the outer Cape, unfortunately, but I will say that I'd plan to leave myself plenty of time to drive to dinner. 6 gets narrower and slower that far out, and traffic can be a problem on holidays, even in winter.

I hope you have a great weekend! Winter on the Cape is blustery and beautiful. I hope you have time to go for some walks on the beach!

We go to Eastham every summer. For nicer meals, you want to go to Wellfleet. I suggest Mac's Shack. A shack in name only, it's a nice spot with tremendously good seafood. There are a few other good options in town, but I think this is your best bet.

Throughout college and grad school, I went to Thanksgiving at my grandparents' house in Brewster. One year, when all of the normal guests had other plans (and my grandmother didn't feel like cooking), the three of us went to Ocean's Edge. It's a fairly old, fancy, stuffy place, so don't expect anything "outside the box," but the food is very good, the service is nice, and the view is great. You could do a lot worse.

In looking more carefully at Oceans Edge's web page, it appears that they're now doing it as a buffet, so perhaps it's not as nice of a sit down dinner as what I experienced those 10+ years ago.

Response by poster: For anyone using this thread for reference, we r ended up going to the captain linden house in orleans. It was a little pricey as I expected, but not too bad for that kind of restaurant on the Cape. We really enjoyed it. One thing I realized as we were leaving was that larger groups were given tables in one room, maybe where they often have functions, and smaller groups like ours were seated at the typical restaurant tables. This had the effect of not making us feel quiet and small versus some large boisterous group right next to us, which was nice.
