Any reasonably priced boutique hotels in Singapore?

Travelling to Singapore at the end of the month. Does anyone know of any reasonably priced boutique hotels there? A nice place to be my base camp during my visit.

One more thing -- if you know of any places of intrest to visit or particular activities to do while in Singapore please let me know. Thanks

In 2001, I stayed at The Inn at Temple Street, in Chinatown. The rooms and service was pretty nice back then. I think they gave you a free continental breakfast which was pretty much toast and jam, tea and coffee. The site I linked says you can get a room for SGD 108.00, which is about $64 USD/night.

A typical tourist would probably go to

the Zoo : http://www.zoo.com.sg/

The night safari is pretty awesome.

i also liked to go running at night in the singapore botanic gardens which has all manner of beautiful tropical plants, lots of paths and is absolutely exquisite with the lights on all the trees at night.

there is also a nice bird sanctuary where you can see all kinds of wildlife if you're into that.

make sure you eat at one of the hawker centres and you must, MUST eat black pepper crab at the east coast seafood centre. OMFG is it ever good. singaporeans know how to eat.

yeah, the Customs and Immigration card they give you on the plane as you approach Singapore has "DEATH PENALTY FOR DRUG IMPORTATION" written in big red letters across the top.

I second the night zoo. It was the hilight of my trip.

Plus, if you dress like a tiger you can sleep there for cheap.

Go have a Singapore Sling at the Long Bar, and then go to Newton Circus for late night local munchies!!!
