How to repair glasses scratched by the scratch repair?

I used Armour Etch to repair my scratched eyeglasses, which worked a treat on the existing scratches, but now there are additional scratches that won't come out! What can I do now?

Response by poster: Forgot to clarify: the scratch repair tips I've seen online all seem to be about removing the anti-glare coating from the lenses. The Armour Etch has most likely gotten rid of all that, so I'm looking for tips for what to do once the coating is already gone. Thanks!

Unless you have access to a transparent resin with the same refractive index as your lens material, you aren't going to be able to repair your lenses. It's unfortunate, but this is when you go in and get replacement lenses.

How did you use it that led to additional scratches? Armour Etch is a chemical process that doesn't require any rubbing or abrasion. The "new" scratches must have either been there already, or you scratched the lenses somehow (using a not-so-soft cloth?) at some point during the process. In either case, ladh is correct. The lenses are now permanently scratched.

FWIW, bare, uncoated plastic lenses aren't going to be impervious to scratches, even polycarbonate lenses will develop scratches.
