iOS games like the SSX snowboarding series

My favorite video games are those in the SSX series. I loved the feeling of speed, the chance to do tricks, the reasonably graded levels, and most of all, that messing up did not mean death or stop the game. Are there iOS games that are like this?

I've been playing Race the Sun, which has some of these elements, but I'm not that good at games and die all the time, which ends the game and is a major drag.

Best answer: If you haven't played Alto's Adventure you really should. A mistake does mean death, but it's fairly forgiving and just two taps starts a new run, so it feels like a continuous flow.

Skiing Yeti Mountain is plenty of fun, and although I never played SSX, I've been told it scratches the same itch for a lot of people.

Best answer: SummitX is a fairly realistic snowboarding game. I played the older Android version and enjoyed it a lot.

As for side-scrollers, Ski Safari is a good one.
