new project for family collaboration - tools and tips?

My family has a vacation home, which my mother has managed until now. She has created an LLC in order to turn over the responsibilities to her 3 children and 2 adult grandchildren (all living in same region, within 6-7 hours of the place). What collaborative online space would you recommend for this purpose? If you have experience with such a family project, what tips or suggestions aside from Web collaboration?

Features needed are an "active discussion" area, an E-Z archives-by-topic area, areas for posting photos and maybe an "annual reminders" list, and (most of all) a calendar on which people could request certain dates, tentative until approved or renegotiated by whoever is Manager; bonus if it's free. My first thought was Facebook, but a couple of us hate it, and one is barred by her job from joining it. Would Slack + Dropbox work for us? We are generally competent in the skills required to use and maintain such a site, but would still like to keep it as simple and straightforward as possible.

Slack might be good, or Google Sites?

It's not my favorite project management tool, but Asana might be a good fit. It has discussion areas, archived topics/to dos, and I think you could figure out a way to do requests through it too.

I would recommend giving Trello a look.
