Pricing a Mazda CX-5

We are planning to buy a Mazda CX-5 in the near future. What kind of a price should we be looking to get, in southern Ontario?

We've decided to make a Mazda CX-5 our next vehicle, and I want to know what kind of a price I can expect to get.

We're looking at the remaining 2015 models with the GX (Sport in the US) trim and the Convenience Package (the latter mainly because it is hard to find one without it). I contacted five dealerships in our area with a request for their pricing; however, nobody's actually giving me more than the sticker price. (I'm getting a lot of "Come on in and we can work out some special pricing for you. I'm going to go to two of the dealerships that are closest to me this weekend.)

I hate negotiating and all that, but I want to get the best deal. I came across this amazing comment after I had initially contacted the dealers; however, most of the resources (i.e. Edmunds) I can find to get information on pricing are US-based.

We're not in any specific rush here, and I am definitely willing to walk away if I don't get the price I want. We will be financing the car, and have a down payment and will also most likely trade-in our 2007 Mazda 3.

So how do I determine, in Canada, what a fair price for this specific vehicle is? And how do I proceed to get that price?

And, as a sub-question, are we likely to save by getting a 2015 versus a 2016? (Two of the five dealers I contacted said that they didn't have a 2015 but would be happy to earn my business on a 2016).

Thanks.

I can tell you that we ( Workers at a Southern Ontario Auto plant ) pay the price on the window. That is to say, If the sticker price is 25,000. we pay 25,000 with taxes and dealer prep and licensing. So If I go to a dealer that sells vehicles of the brand we manufacture, I pay the price on the window, "out the door". I would not recommend trading in a 2007 model anything , because that will give them room to inflate the purchase price. Sell on Kijiji ( like Craigs list in the states, but better...). Wash it, vacuum it, make is smell nice and it will sell. Good luck.
